LIL WONDER

2011 brings you the 4th generation Lil' Wonder amplifiers from Soundstream. While LW 4 has all the pre-amp control and features you expect from previous years, the greatest improvement for 2011 is all SMT technology circuitry. SMT circuitry give the ability to pack more power into a smaller size chassis. Additionally, overall sound quality improves. A gloss black finish with recessed end panels demand an attractive appeal. LW 4 is available in 8 multi-channel class A/B models, and 3 Class D monoblocks.

Higher powered models employ close tolerance circuit components, and tighter PCB layout design. Although the assembly is very intensive and detail oriented, the primary benefit in return is smaller overall chassis size.Yet another unique feature of LW 4 is detent crossover potentiometers. WTF is a potentiometer? Potentiometers, pots for short, are the crossover and gain adjustment knobs. What is a detent? Detent pots have click stops, "detents", so you can accurately select your crossover frequency setting. An included reference chart verifies the frequency each detent position represents. Additional pre-amp fetures include variable 12dB high pass, low pass, and subsonic crossovers & variable bass boost. |
As a market strategy concept for 2011, four separate lower power class A/B models are available. These four models use a less congested SMT PCB layout that focuses just as much on sound quality as the higher power models, however the more relaxed PCB layout does not require extreme assembly practices. This opens the ability for Lil' Wonder to offer an appropriately engineered, affordable amplifier in a competitive marketplace.
