Chris Jones of Migraine Kustoms in Edgewater, Fl is a nut! I love this guy! We met at Spring Break Nationals for the first time in person, BUT we birthed a monster together before the show!

Chris was challenged by another installer at another shop who very much overestimated his own talent. Chris asked me to help him with designing a vehicle that will crush the punk’s vehicle with higher SPL and humiliate the guy so he knows his own boundaries. I was all about making this happen!!! For those of you who may have met or know me, I have a passion for humbling all of the primadonnas who think they are way cooler than they really are! Audio used to be all about fun, not talking crap about the competition. Actions speak louder than words, right? And so we began the project…

We wanted a system that would not only hit louder on a meter, but would be nauseating at low frequencies. Mission accomplished via 6 SPLX15 subs and Picasso Class D amplifiers. The truck speaks for it but you gotta hear what happened to the “other guy”.

The other guy claimed “I’m gonna shut you down and build something that will blow the roof off! Nothing beats JL!” At a local SPL show, Chris showed up in the lanes to get a score. The other guy showed up demanding to be in the same lane with Chris. Not only did the guy not have JL in the car, he built a system with 6 T3-15” subs. At least this would be a fair match. The only problem was that Chris’ system was tuned at 38Hz while this other vehicle would have been tuned much higher for SPL burping. Turned out not to be a problem at all. Chris spanked the clown by nearly 4dB! While the other clown bragged and talked a big talk, he failed miserably and looked like an ass! Chris brought it!!!

The moral to the story is, don’t be a fool by bragging and challenging people if you don’t know for a fact that you can beat them. In this case, it felt good to humiliate and humble the guy…
