I installed the system originally for daily use and rattling walls, but the "Bass Head" inside me took over. Over the two years as a Team Soundstrem member, the system has gone from big, to better. |
I contacted Soundstream for advice about building different enclosure types for different results, and was asked to join Team Soundstream. Grizz Archer helped me tweek and tune my system that has led to a room full of trophies since. While livin' it up at Word Finals in Tulsa OK, Grizz and I came up with a plan to go above and beyond. Unfortunately it meant sacrificing the rest of the years competitions, and part of this year, but it's been worth it!

In addition to the OEM alternator, I installed three stiffly regulated Ohio Generator high output 16V alternators under the hood. The trio feed nine Kinetik HC-1000 16V batteries in the bed. All batteries are paralleled together by solid copper buss bars and 0ga. jumpers. That's 850 amps from the alternators topping off 15,000 amps of reserve capacitance to meet the demands for 19,500 watts of XXX power! Another killer feature is the ability to change the entire charging system between 16V and 12V in only a few moments. |
A pair of Tarantula series TX4.560 4 channel amplifiers in the bed are wired up to 4 pairs of Tarantula series SST6.5 6.5" speakers in a center console, 4 pairs of SST6.9 6" x 9" speakers in the doors and under the dash, and two additional pairs of tweeters.

I have placed 1st in every event entered, and one runner up, thanks to some untimely difficulties. I knew an average score of 158dB was an achievement of its own, but with the products used, there was potential for better results. This led to the full rebuild as you see it today. |
