My name is Jay Gotti. I am 23 years old, from the Bronx, New York. This Maxima is my first car project and I love it. I purchased the car in 2008 and immediately started to modify it. It is still my daily driver. It was the first time I really put any money into my car and it was the first time I started actually sitting down in my house for countless hours trying to figure out what I could do to it next!
I quickly found out that modifying cars was something that just came second nature to me. I began to see cars in a different way after that. See a car, find a mod to do to it! I could sit in any car for a 10 minute ride to the grocery store and by the time I arrived home, I would have a list of 15 things I could do to that car. Sometimes it was my car, sometimes a friends, even my fathers. It just became something I always did. I can't help but see past the shell of a car and start visioning modifications. My job is grateful for it because now I work as much overtime as I can to support my expensive illness that I call modifying my car!! I got the bug and can't get rid of it!

I started building this car with simple things such as LED's and changing the interior colors to blue. I eventually got around to personally doing all the interior panels in a custom carbon fiber; including the door panels, the gauge cluster, and even the steering wheel!!! I spliced Led strips and connected them into the spot where you place the led bulbs on the doors. Now the led strips take the place of a regular bulb and cause a lot more light to be spread out. It looks great at night when the underglow is on as well.

Since I love the music aspect of a car I transformed my regular trunk into a custom one of a kind trunk. With the help of Soundstream products, KCMAXX, and Delta Electronics, I did a custom setup including fuses molded into the left side panel. On the right side I have the same panel but its currently holding empty space, which will soon be filled with a nice TV!!

They are brought together by the one of a kind Nissan symbol beauty board. The beauty board has the opening of a Nissan symbol with just enough room for my SPLX sub to pop out and be covered by a sick spider grill!! I have built in Led's all over the trunk and two bangin' loud amps right smack in the middle. All the wiring is nicely tucked away behind the panels and in the space where the spare tire belongs! Haha! That's right, no spare tire! You don't get points for a spare tire at shows :). The finishing touch to my trunk was a 2 month job that took place on my living floor and adds some personal touch to the car.

| When people ask me why I "waste" my money on my car and why I put so much effort and money into my car, I wanna scream at them. Everyone has a hobby, mine is just a little more expensive! A hobby is just that, a hobby. It sure beats selling drugs on the corner, no? It keeps me occupied, keeps me sane, gives me something to do when I'm bored... should I go on and list the reasons, i could go on for days? I don't complain to you about spending your 6 hours a day behind a television do I |

I only do shows, not sound competitions. I am a big fan of being outgoing, running around car shows, seeing some well put together cars, hanging out with models etc.. I hangout on the forums a lot to learn more and more about cars and products. My6thgen.org is my home. Team Soundstream is something I want to be part of for a long time to come. I thank you for the opportunity! |
