Music has been a big part of my life, bass was no exception. It was '96 when I earned a license to drive, and an '89 Chevy Cheyenne 2500. Before its first days on the road I installed a triangle shaped dual sealed box with a pair of 12" subs, wired up to a gloss white California Profile 750.1 amp, I was hooked.
My next project was an '87 Toyota Celica GTS five-speed. At the time, I was unfamiliar with driving manual transmission, and refused to learn until an audio system was installed. I acquired 2 additional California Profile amps, and, after a visit to my local Wal-Mart, came up on a pair of Road Gear 10"s and 12"s. One last stop at Home Depot on the way home for a few sheets of MDF, and I was off to build new enclosures. After installing the new enclosures, and wiring up the amps, I forced myself into learning manual transmission driving. The Celica was a head turner, and sounded great. Local law enforcement even stopped me occasionally to check it out. Over the years, other projects came and went, but the concept remained the same. My dedication to car audio gave me a local reputation, friends and neighbors began seeking me out for their car audio needs. I made sure though, on Friday nights at Micky D's, I remained the loudest on the block.
My real dream though, was a vehicle worthy of membership into an SPL competition team. I dreamt of the day my car was covered with team & sponsor logos and I was a SPL competitor, always wanted to be that guy. My dreams came to life when Soundstream offered me a place on their team. I have the privilege and am proud to represent Soundstream Technologies as a contributing member of Team Soundstream.
My current project is a low and loud 2006 Chrysler Seabring. A combination of four SPLX-122HX woofers, a pair of D-Tower DTR1.3400D amplifiers, and six XS Power D3100 batteries consistently yield 150dB results, even in the upper 30Hz range. The gear can even turn over high 140dBs over thirty seconds in the low 40Hz range. A Rubicon series RUB4.600 provides mid & hi to a pair of Picasso PCC.6N component sets, and a pair of Arachnid series SF-693T 6"x9"s in the front doors. While these results are tough to accomplish, I'm confident I can produce more. I intend to add two more woofers and an additional amp soon, with an 8.3" VIR-8310NRB source unit.
